Biography
Giovanna Guerrero-Medina received a PhD in neurobiology from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by science policy fellowships at the National Academies and the NIH. Through her position with the Wu Tsai Institute and additional roles as director in the Yale School of Medicine's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and executive director of the nonprofit Ciencia Puerto Rico, Giovanna leads programs to democratize science and promote inclusive scientific environments. Her first exposure to research was as a high school student studying lake fish in her home country of Puerto Rico. She has been hooked on science since then.
